Amir Taba

Amir Taba is a deep-tech builder‑leader with a PhD in Electronic Engineering who serves as the CEO, Co‑founder, and CTO of DIREK Ltd. They led the development of award‑winning ML‑based indoor radar technology SIMS for intelligent building management, as well as the world‑leading location tracking technology PIPS with sub‑one meter accuracy. They previously served as a Senior Research Fellow at the 5G Innovation Centre, University of Surrey, where they designed mobility management solutions for next‑generation networks, developed algorithms for user tracking and profiling on mobile devices, and supervised PhD and MSc candidates. They earned a PhD in Electronic Engineering from the University of Surrey, a Master of Science in Mobile Networks and Systems from the University of Essex, and a Bachelor of Science in Physics from Isfahan University of Technology.
