Jara Barrett

Jara Barrett is a legal graduate currently working in the PATBI division at Disability Rights New York since January 2022. As a freelance artist and pro bono scholar since December 2017, Jara creates a variety of commission art and design work. Previous experience includes serving as a New York Law School Legislative Advocacy Clinic Student at Everytown for Gun Safety, a summer intern at the New Jersey Office of the Public Defender, and a Maker Space Attendant at the Museum of the Shenandoah Valley. Jara also has a background in costume design, holding roles at Winchester Little Theatre Inc. and experience in office management at 5 Star Security. Jara holds a Juris Doctor from New York Law School, a Bachelor of Arts in Animation from Savannah College of Art and Design, and has completed a certificate course in Film Studies at Central Film School, London.
