Deja Barber currently serves as a Leadership Trainer at Disability Rights North Carolina since May 2021, where leadership training is provided for individuals with and without disabilities. Deja also worked as a Covid Vaccine Worker, conducting cold calls and promoting vaccine outreach events. Additionally, Deja has been a Student Teacher with Wake County Public School System since January 2016 and previously served as a Youth Counselor at YMCA from August 2016 to May 2017, supporting low-income students in developing reading and math skills. Deja holds multiple degrees from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University, including two Master of Arts in Vocational Rehabilitation Counseling and Counselor Education, and a Bachelor's Degree in Special Education from William Peace University.
