Nicole Raney has a diverse work experience in the media industry. In 2020, they began working as a Content Manager for Discogs, the world's largest online music database and marketplace. In this role, they maintain consistent voice and branding for Discogs and is responsible for creating and reviewing content across all channels. From 2017-2020, Nicole was the Managing Editor for The Manual, an online men's lifestyle publication. In this role, they were responsible for curating content, working with freelancers and providing a well-rounded strategy for increasing traffic and revenue. Nicole was also a member of the Leadership Team, tasked with improving company culture and communication, and was part of The Manual Podcast. From 2014-2017, Nicole was an Associate Editor for CultureMap, a network of local lifestyle sites delivering daily news in Austin, Dallas, Fort Worth, Houston and San Antonio. In this role, they were responsible for creating original articles and managing editorial coverage. Finally, from 2013-2014, Nicole was a Digital Content Producer for Waterloo Media, contributing articles, photos, video and web design for multiple radio station websites. In this role, they managed live updates, blogs, studio coverage and production ideas, as well as running several station and personality social media accounts.

Nicole Raney attended The University of Texas at Austin from 2009 to 2013, where they earned a BS in Multimedia Journalism. Nicole also completed a Study Abroad program at the University of Westminster in 2011, focusing on Media Studies and Music Industry. Additionally, they obtained a Poynter ACES Certificate in Editing from Poynter's News University.
