Rodney Keeling has worked in the tech industry since 2012. Rodney began their career as a Web Developer intern at Boeing in 2012. In 2013, they joined CarWoo! as a Software Engineer, where they worked with a front-end lead to build an embedded tooling widget and helped redesign the customer journey with A/B/n tests, multi-armed bandit, etc. using Ruby on Rails, Backbone.js, and multiple caching technologies. In 2014, they joined Discogs as a Software Engineer, where they created and managed numerous services via Kubernetes, including a large migration & upgrade of a >30 node Elasticsearch cluster handling >3.5k queries/sec at peak. Rodney also promoted open-source, data-driven development, internationalization, image support, and hack day projects. In their current role as Technical Lead Engineer at Discogs, they are leading a major migration of core business entities from a monolithic architecture to a GraphQL-based microservices architecture built on Kubernetes with the scale in the order of >1M requests per hour on average.
Rodney Keeling attended Oregon State University from 2008 to 2013, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science.
