Renee Rodriguez

Renee Rodriguez is currently the Chief Accounting Officer at Discord. Prior to their current position, they served as the VP of Corporate Controller at Netflix from January 2009 to February 2022. In this role, they managed a team of individuals responsible for critical operational and accounting functions, such as revenue and receipts, g/l accounting, monthly close and consolidation, technical accounting, financial reporting, and SEC compliance.

Renee has been praised for their work in partnering with executives and business owners to provide timely guidance on the accounting and disclosures for complex transactions and arrangements. Renee was also instrumental in building an international accounting team that supports global expansion through key decisions and processes related to local tax compliance, statutory financial reporting, foreign currency accounting, and transfer pricing.

In addition, Renee served as chairperson for the disclosure committee that is responsible for all SEC filings, including quarterly and annual reports on Form 10Q and 10K. Renee also helped improve the close process and post-close financial statement analysis and reporting processes through continual drive towards automation and efficiency.

Finally, Renee was responsible for establishing a treasury function from the ground up that today supports global operations. Renee has also served on various working groups for financing transactions that have successfully raised billions in debt and equity to support the Company’s rapid expansion.

Renee Rodriguez has a Masters of Professional Accountancy from Montana State University-Bozeman and is certified in CPA.
