Roland Krocin

Roland Krocin is a seasoned technology leader with extensive experience in engineering and platform management, currently serving as Senior Director of Platform Engineering at Discover Financial Services since February 2004. In this role, Roland leads a core team responsible for the Discover Technology Academy developer platform, facilitating the efficient development of software through improved access to learning resources. Previous positions at Discover include Director of Cloud Engineering, where Roland managed significant cloud infrastructure and achieved substantial reliability improvements, and Director of Middleware Engineering, overseeing critical middleware systems for business operations. Prior to Discover, Roland was Systems Architect and CTO at Nsc Techworks Ltd, successfully managing a document data warehouse project recognized for innovation. Roland holds a Master’s in Computer Engineering and a Bachelor’s in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the Illinois Institute of Technology.
