Sean Swanson (He/They)

Sean Swanson has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Sean started their career as an Assistant Manager/Sales Associate at Zumiez, where they led a team and focused on store sales and improving the sales team's performance. After that, they worked as a Hospitality Specialist at Deru Market, contributing to the local economy and community through sourcing and promoting local, organic, and artisanal products.

In 2017, Sean enrolled in General Assembly Seattle's Full Stack Web Developer program, where they gained comprehensive knowledge and skills in web development. Sean completed various projects using technologies such as JavaScript, React.js, and Node.

Sean then worked as a Web Developer at Ian Gilman, collaborating with a senior developer and gaining hands-on experience by developing projects from scratch. Sean also had an apprenticeship role, where they reinforced their coding skills and best practices while working remotely.

Later, Sean joined Traditions of the Ancestors as a Junior Web Developer. Sean was part of a small team developing a platform for exploring and connecting with different cultures. Their responsibilities included implementing visualizations, converting prototypes to UI code, and integrating various functionalities like event tracking and social sharing.

Currently, Sean is working as an SDE - Front End Engineer I at DreamBox Learning, where they are involved in front-end engineering tasks. Their previous role was as a Client Support Specialist, providing help and assistance to clients.

Sean Swanson began their education in 2010 at Bellevue College, where they pursued a degree in General Studies and completed their A.A. in 2012. In 2014, they attended the University of Washington and obtained a Bachelor of Philosophy degree in 2015. In 2017, they furthered their education by enrolling in General Assembly, where they completed a Full-stack Web Development program in 2018.

Throughout their educational journey, Sean has also obtained additional certifications. In June 2020, they completed the Technical Support Fundamentals certification offered by Google. Following that, in December 2021, they earned the Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) certification through the Scrum Alliance. Lastly, in May 2022, they obtained both the Certified SAFe 5 Scrum Master and Certified SAFe 5 Practitioner certifications from Scaled Agile, Inc.
