Marianne Fashjian has over 20 years of diverse experience in sales, guest services, and social work. Currently, Marianne works at Discovery Place, Inc. as a Guest Sales and Reservations professional, where responsibilities include creating, scheduling, and booking class events for grades Pre-K to 8th. Prior roles include positions at buybuy BABY as a Sales Associate and Front End Lead, and at Sears Outlet Stores as a Sales Associate. Additional experience encompasses serving as a Hearing Aid Specialist at Amplifon and various sales roles in the retail sector, including a leadership position at Coldwater Creek. Early career experience as a Medical Social Worker, Social Work Supervisor, and Director of the Social Services Department at Noble Hospital laid a foundation in social work, supported by a Bachelor's degree in Social Work from Mount Saint Mary College.
Discovery Place
Discovery Place is a private 501c(3) not-for-profit education organization dedicated to inspiring exploration of science and the natural world through extraordinary exhibits and educational programs that inform, challenge and engage audiences of all ages. As one of the leading hands-on science centers in the country, Discovery Place offers visitors the opportunity to gain a greater understanding of the basics of science, technology, engineering and mathematics in a fun, interactive and informal setting. Discovery Place, Inc. owns and operates Discovery Place Science, Discovery Place Nature, Discovery Place Kids-Huntersville and Discovery Place Kids-Rockingham. Discovery Place Science in Uptown is home to the Accenture IMAX Dome Theatre.
