Saara Airas has extensive work experience in various roles within HR and people operations. Saara is currently serving as the Chief People Officer at Dispelix since January 2024. Prior to this, they held the position of Director of People Operations at Dispelix from September 2022 to January 2024.
Before joining Dispelix, Saara worked at Smartly.io as an HR Lead, EMEA & APAC from September 2021 to September 2022. Saara also held the positions of HR Business Partner, EMEA from November 2020 to September 2021, and Global Mobility Manager from April 2018 to November 2020.
Saara's earlier experience includes working at KPMG Finland as a Senior Global Mobility Advisor from January 2018 to April 2018, and as a Global Mobility Advisor from June 2016 to December 2017. Saara also worked at Deloitte Finland as a Team Coordinator, Global Employer Services from August 2015 to May 2016.
Saara began their career at EY, where they worked as a Business Development Trainee from January 2015 to June 2015, and as a Global Mobility Trainee from September 2013 to December 2014. During their time at EY, they supported the Assignment Services team by preparing expatriate contracts and cost estimates for multinational client companies.
In addition to their HR and mobility experience, Saara also has experience in a leadership role as the Regional Manager for the citizen's initiative campaign Tahdon2013 for equal marriage law in Finland. Saara held this position from 2013 to 2014 and was responsible for internal communication, recruiting area managers, and supporting local events.
Saara Airas' early professional experience includes working at MCB Finance Finland Oy as a Customer Servant from August 2011 to August 2013, and at SOK as a Salesperson from November 2007 to February 2010.
Saara Airas earned a Master's degree in Food Economics from the University of Helsinki, where they studied from 2008 to 2015. In 2011, they participated in the Erasmus Exchange Program at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, focusing on Agricultural Economics. Prior to their higher education, Saara completed their high school education at The Viikki Teacher Training School, University of Helsinki, from 2004 to 2007.
