Ben Niemann has a diverse background in engineering, having worked in various roles since 2010. Ben began their career as a Software and Electrical Engineering Intern at Aztech Software Inc. in 2010. Ben then worked as an Electrical Engineering Intern at Moline Machinery in 2012 and an Automation Engineering Internship at Dover Energy Automation | Production Optimization in 2013. In the same year, they also worked as a Research Assistant at the Natural Resources Research Institute, where they were responsible for mechanical and physical performance testing of wood products. From 2014 to 2018, Ben worked at Dover Energy Automation | Production Optimization as a Control Systems Engineer II, where they tested and integrated Dover products, software, and hardware within the Oil and Gas industry, designed PCB expansion cards for their 8000 series product line, maintained and improved the current micro-controller test system, and assisted manufacturing in multiple facets. Ben is currently employed as a Staff Control Systems Engineer at Altec since 2018 and is a Systems Engineer at DISTek Integration, Inc. since 2022.

Ben Niemann obtained their High School Diploma from Greeley West H.S. in 2009. Ben then attended the University of Minnesota Duluth, graduating in 2014 with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering. In January 2015, they obtained an Engineering Intern (EI) certification from the State of Colorado. In June 2014, they obtained an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification from the State of Minnesota. In February 2019, they obtained a Mobile Hydraulic Mechanic (MHM) certification from the International Fluid Power Society.
