Nikyra James

Nikyra James is a dedicated school social worker currently employed at Distinctive Schools since September 2022, providing counseling and support to general education and special education students. Previous experience includes roles as an outpatient therapist and school social worker at UCAN in Chicago, and relief parent at SOS Children's Villages International. Nikyra has a strong background in facilitating group counseling, developing and coordinating Multi-Tiered Student Support (MTSS) initiatives, and crisis intervention. Educational qualifications include a Master’s Degree in Social Work from Dominican University and a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from Salem College.
