Ella Willard-Schmoe

Project Engineer at Distributed Solar Development

Ella Willard-Schmoe has a diverse work experience in the renewable energy industry. Ella began their career at the University of Washington Applied Physics Lab as an Engineer/Scientist II from October 2009 to August 2011. Ella then pursued a Master's degree in Energy Engineering - Solar at UMass Lowell from September 2011 to December 2013.

Following their education, Ella joined Zapotec Energy as a Design Engineer from May 2013 to June 2017. Ella then moved on to Puget Sound Solar, where they held various roles. From July 2017 to December 2018, they served as a Senior Commercial Project Manager, overseeing commercial projects. Ella then transitioned into a Senior Project Engineer role from December 2018 to March 2021. Their most recent position at Puget Sound Solar was Senior Development Engineer, which they held from March 2021 to April 2022.

Currently, Ella is working at DSD Renewables as a Project Engineer, beginning in May 2022.

Ella Willard-Schmoe completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Physics from Haverford College, where they studied from 2005 to 2009. After taking a brief break, they pursued a Master's degree in Engineering - Renewable (Solar) Energy at UMass Lowell from 2011 to 2013. Ella holds additional certifications in the field of renewable energy, including an OSHA 10 Hour Construction certification obtained in August 2013 from 360training.com and a NABCEP Certified PV Installation Professional certification obtained in December 2016 from NABCEP: North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners.
