Abesha Assefa, MBA, PMP has over 19 years of work experience in various roles within the information technology field. Abesha started their career as a Lead Computer Programmer at Compustat Consultant Inc., where they developed and tested dynamic web sites using ASP, JavaScript, and HTML. Abesha also upgraded code and changed programs to improve efficiency. Afterwards, Abesha worked as a Database Analyst at Prime Data, where they analyzed and prepared data for non-profit organizations, developed applications, and performed quality control. Abesha then joined hodgsonConsulting LLC as a Project Manager/Developer, where they acted as a liaison between clients and a team of developers and designers, ensuring projects were completed within budget and met all requirements.

Abesha's career continued to progress as they moved to the American Psychiatric Association. Here, they held several roles including Senior Systems Analyst/Project Manager, where they worked on the implementation of strategic infrastructure projects and assisted with software development, training, and web-based application management. Abesha then became an IT Delivery Manager, overseeing the implementation of IT projects and managing project risks. Abesha's final role at the American Psychiatric Association was Deputy Director, Enterprise Applications, where they had responsibility for all enterprise applications and databases, managing major projects across the organization.

Abesha's most recent role was at DC Bar, where they served as the Director, Delivery & Data. In this role, they led a customer-focused, technical delivery team within the Information Technology Department. Abesha'sresponsibilities included building and maintaining relationships with business units, understanding business needs, and leveraging technology initiatives. Abesha provided day-to-day leadership, coaching, and mentoring to direct reports.

Throughout their career, Abesha has showcased their expertise in project management, software development, systems analysis, and leadership. Abesha'seducational background includes an MBA and a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.

Abesha Assefa holds a Bachelor of Applied Science (BASc) degree in Bachelor of Science in information systems from Strayer University, which was obtained from 2006 to 2008. Prior to this, they completed an Associate's degree in Computer Programming and Analysis from Seneca Polytechnic, which they obtained from 1997 to 2000.

Abesha further pursued their education and completed a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from George Mason University in 2018. Abesha later obtained another MBA degree from the University of Maryland Global Campus, which they completed from 2019 to 2021.

In addition to their academic achievements, Abesha Assefa has also obtained the Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute in April 2013.
