Cory Chimka is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in educational management and program development. As a Senior Account Manager and former Manager of Account Management at the District of Columbia Sustainable Energy Utility since February 2015, Cory has played a crucial role in driving sustainable energy initiatives. Prior experience includes serving as Program Director at DC SCORES, where uniform quality delivery standards were established, leading to significant program growth. Additionally, as National Education Director for America SCORES, Cory maintained a national network of program directors and enhanced curricula for after-school programs. Earlier roles include Staff Developer and Teacher Coach at the Teachers Institute, and various teaching and leadership positions within the District of Columbia Public Schools. Cory holds a BA in Elementary Education, Spanish & Latin American Studies from the University of Maryland and has pursued advanced studies at Teachers College, Columbia University.

The District of Columbia Sustainable Energy Utility (DCSEU) helps residents and businesses in DC use less energy, save money, and cut greenhouse gas emissions. Since 2011, the DCSEU has delivered rebates, technical assistance, and information to tens of thousands of District renters, homeowners, and businesses, helping them to save millions of dollars on their energy costs. Through our work, we are creating green jobs for District residents, fostering economic opportunities for District businesses, keeping energy costs down for low-income residents, and building a brighter future for the City.
