Alan M. Lucas

Alan M. Lucas, CRSP, currently serves as the Director of Human Resources and Occupational Safety for the District of Kent since July 2021. Prior to this role, Alan held the position of Health & Safety Manager at the City of Chilliwack from November 2011 to July 2021, and has experience as a Health, Safety & Environmental Manager at Fraser River Pile and Dredge (GP) Inc. from June 2000 to November 2011. In addition, Alan has contributed to education as a part-time instructor for the British Columbia Institute of Technology, teaching courses on hazard recognition and control. Alan's earlier career includes roles such as Program Implementation Coordinator for the SPMS at West Kootenay Power and Forest Technologist at Pacific Cascade Consultants Ltd. Alan's educational background includes a Diploma in Rehabilitation and Disability Management from Simon Fraser University, an Associate Certificate in Leadership and Conflict Resolution from the Justice Institute of British Columbia, and diplomas in Occupational Health & Safety and Renewable Resources from the British Columbia Institute of Technology.
