Amy Stewart has been a teacher with the District School Board Ontario North East since December 2017, having previously taught at the Western Quebec School Board from September 2015 to December 2017. In these roles, Amy focused on teaching Grades 7 and 8, lesson planning, grading, IEP writing, classroom management, skill building, and role modeling. Amy's experience also includes a position as a student teacher at the Ottawa-Carleton District School Board in April 2015, where valuable skills were developed while working with recently immigrated students, and at Turnbull School in November 2014, gaining insights into teaching in a private school environment. Amy holds a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) in Junior/Intermediate Education from the University of Ottawa, completed in 2015, and a Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences from the same institution, completed in 2014.

District School Board Ontario North East is an Ontario English Public School Board serving Northeastern Ontario from Hearst to Temagami. It covers an extensive area of 25,000 square kilometres. Our vision is "To empower all learners to achieve personal excellence." Our main office is located in Schumacher at 153 Croatia Avenue and a secondary office is located in New Liskeard at 198022 River Road. Our schools offer English, French Immersion and Alternate Education programming, including the Early Learning Kindergarten Program with full-day Junior and Senior Kindergarten. We also have a strong online learning community through e-Learning Ontario of the Ontario Ministry of Education.
