Jasen Samford

Jasen Samford has been the Director of Artist Relations at DistroKid since May of 2016. Prior to that, they worked as the Lead Operations Trainer at UnitedHealth Group from August of 2012 to May of 2016. In this role, they were responsible for managing projects, developing curriculum, designing instruction, delivering classroom training, and leading/supervising staff. Jasen also trained and coached new hires as well as existing staff in technical and soft skills.

Jasen has a wealth of experience in training delivery, having delivered training in both classroom and remote webinar settings. Jasen is an expert in developing, writing, and facilitating trainings for new products and ongoing learning. In addition, they have worked with application developers to incorporate user experience needs into software and with interdepartmental clients and SMEs to gather requirements, conduct needs assessments, and craft objectives that meet exacting specifications.

Jasen has also evaluated trainings for effectiveness and tracked trainee progress in online databases, communicating progress to HR and upper management. Jasen has participated in e-learning lesson development processes from storyboarding to testing.

Due to their extensive experience and expertise in the field of training and development, Jasen is uniquely qualified to lead the Artist Relations team at DistroKid.

Jasen Samford's educational career includes a Bachelor of Arts in English Language and Literature/Letters from the University of Washington, as well as an Associate of Arts in General Studies from Shoreline Community College.

They work with Robin Wheeler Akkerman - Chief Financial Officer, Phil Bauer - Chief Operating Officer, and Jerry Chiang - Director, Legal & Business Affairs. Their manager is Philip Kaplan, Founder & CEO.
