Dave Muscatel is a Senior Operating Partner at Diversis with senior financial and operational executive experience in executing turnarounds and growing businesses. He is a proven product innovator with 15 years of consumer electronics experience across a wide range of technologies. Dave recently left Patriarch Partners after leading two successful turnarounds over the previous nine years. From 2009 to 2013, Dave served as CEO of Rand McNally, spearheading the company’s transition from the print publishing business into becoming a leading supplier of specialized navigation devices for truckers and RVers and electronic logging devices for long-haul trucking fleets. He was named CEO “Innovator of the Year” by Patriarch for leading the company to sustained revenue growth after multiple consecutive years of revenue decline. Prior to Rand McNally, Dave served for four years as COO and CFO of Performance Designed Products (“PDP”), a $300M video game accessories company also owned by Patriarch. While at PDP, Dave oversaw finance, operations, business development, and IT and was a key contributor to the company’s turnaround to becoming one of the most successful companies in Patriarch’s portfolio today.
Prior to Patriarch, Dave spent a decade as a management consultant, including a five year engagement with Hilton Hotels Corporation from 2000 to 2005. While at Hilton, he led a number of high profile technology projects, including managing the roll-out of broadband internet to all hotel guest rooms and check-in kiosks in lobbies. He also served for two years as CFO of a joint venture between Hilton and LodgeNet Entertainment Corporation which provided interactive TV services across Hilton and LodgeNet’s collective network of one million hotels rooms. Before Hilton, Dave spent three years at Deloitte Consulting from 1996 to 1999 specializing in financial process reengineering and merger integration projects. Dave earned a BA in Economics from Pomona College in 1992 and a MBA in Finance and Accounting from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business in 1996, graduating with honors at both schools.
