Micah Anderson, the Program Director at the Mind Body Awareness Project, began practicing meditation 1989 and trained as a mindfulness teacher ten years later. Since then he has led global retreats and training on mindfulness, emotional literacy, and mental wellness for over 15 years with a range of organizations and professionals. He also holds a Masters degree in Psychology.
The Mind Body Awareness Project in the San Francisco Bay Area provides mindfulness-based, trauma-informed interventions for incarcerated adults and youth. It also offers trauma-resiliency training for those who serve those populations, including police and correctional officers, clinicians, and other leadership. He runs a private psychotherapy practice in Oakland, CA, where he resides with his wife and two children.
