Gene Contreras is a seasoned finance professional with extensive experience in management and leadership roles. Currently serving as Vice President of Accounting and Finance at AspenPointe, Inc. since August 2009, Gene oversees the accounting and finance departments for an $80 million behavioral health care company, managing a team of 18. Prior to this, Gene held the position of Senior Vice President at FirstBank of El Paso County from January 1996 to August 2009, where responsibilities included overseeing multiple branches and managing daily operations for a bank with over $100 million in assets. Gene's military service as a Lieutenant in the United States Navy from November 1990 to December 1995 included qualifying as a Surface Warfare Officer aboard the USS Camden AOE-2. Academic credentials include a Graduate degree from the National Graduate School of Banking at the University of Washington’s Pacific Coast Banking School and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a focus in Finance from the University of Colorado Colorado Springs.

Diversus Health was established 145 years ago, when we were named the Springs Relief Society. At the time, we were known for delivering coal, lumber, and clothing to our community’s most vulnerable. Today, we are the largest behavioral health care provider in El Paso, Park, and Teller counties, in Colorado. Our brand, Diversus Health, is rooted in championing the diverse experiences each stakeholder brings to their mental health journey. We recognize the value that life experiences play in mental health and seek to leverage that value in aiding our clients with their needs. Our continuum of care focuses on four core services involving addiction, counseling, crisis management, and psychiatric therapy. Each service area maintains a wide range of unique wellness programs and initiatives for our clients.
