Senior Control System Engineer at Divert

Mark Whitt has a diverse work experience spanning over several decades. Starting in 1987, they worked as a Software Engineer at Glasstech, where they developed embedded firmware for controlling glass tempering and bending furnaces. Mark used Assembly Language and C to program features such as PID loop control, conveyor speed control, motion control, and user interface. Mark also provided direct support to customers and field start-up engineers.

In 1992, Mark joined AVCA as an Electrical Controls Engineer, serving the food and glass industries. Their responsibilities included developing project proposals, designing electrical control systems, and creating PLC programs using Allen-Bradley, Modicon, and TI platforms. Mark also worked on HMI and SCADA systems using PanelView, iFix, and Wonderware.

In 2004, Mark joined METTLER TOLEDO as a Product Support Engineer. Mark provided technical support for the Marketing Organization and direct customers, focusing on the PLC and DCS interface to Mettler-Toledo devices. Mark designed and built test systems for product applications and developed software and PLC code to test and support products.

From 2017 to 2020, Mark worked as a Project Manager at Mettler-Toledo, Inc. Mark ran a confidential R&D project, reporting progress to upper management and performing milestone reviews. Mark also contributed to software development, testing, and beta testing on customer sites.

Most recently, Mark worked at Mettler-Toledo International, Inc. as a System Engineer from 2020 to 2022. Mark provided technical guidance to the product development teams, wrote product specifications and technical requirements with a focus on industrial fieldbus communications, and supported new product rollouts.

Currently, Mark works at Divert as a Senior Control System Engineer, starting in 2022.

Mark Whitt completed their Bachelor of Science (BS) in Computer Science in Engineering from The University of Toledo, where they studied from 1978 to 1983. Their field of study was Computer Science.
