Nicholas Clark

Nicholas Clark is the current Chief Technology Officer (CTO) and co-founder of Divvy Homes. Nicholas was previously with DoubleDutch from June 2011 to August 2017 where they served as the Chief Technology Officer (CTO). In this role, they were responsible for team building, architecture, product development, and business growth.

Under their leadership, the engineering org grew from 2 to 40 engineers. Nicholas opened engineering offices in Portland and Amsterdam and recruited and hired two Directors of Engineering and one VP of Engineering. The organization of engineers into cross-functional domain teams maintained a low attrition rate.

As the leader of the architecture team, Nicholas oversaw all major technical decisions. Nicholas helped design a system to automate the creation, maintenance, and submission of over 2000 iOS/Android applications. The platform they oversaw was scaled to support over 5000 conferences/events per year with over 8 million active users. Nicholas also oversaw the completion of over a dozen security and compliance audits. In addition, they led the engineering shift from a primarily Microsoft stack to a Linux-based stack.

In their role as Chief Technology Officer, Nicholas worked closely with product to define, develop, and ship iOS & Android applications. Nicholas also oversaw the development of a complex API, CMS, Data pipeline, and other tech properties.

During their time with DoubleDutch, Nicholas was heavily involved with several successful fundraising rounds totaling over $70 million. Nicholas worked closely with product, sales, and marketing to grow the business to over 1500 paying customers. Additionally, they led the company into company-wide institution of an anonymous feedback system.

Nicholas Clark earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Cornell University.

Nicholas Clark reports to Adena Hefets, CEO & Co-Founder. Nicholas Clark works with Jack Brousseau - President, Divvy Home Loans, Celestine Casserley - Chief of Staff, and Ankit Tanwar - VP, Risk & Risk Operations. A direct report to Nicholas Clark is and Pete Nichols - VP, Engineering.
