Dwight Anderson is currently the Director of People & Culture at Dixon Hall. Prior to this, they were the Manager of Human Resources at the East York and East Toronto Family Resources Organization from April 2015 to April 2017. In this role, they were responsible for directing and deploying all HR functions in the context of a newly unionized workplace while overseeing the facility and administrative requirements of 5 business units and 8 program sites with over 70 employees located throughout the southeast Scarborough/Beaches and York neighbourhoods. Dwight was also responsible for ensuring continuity of business operations and realization of organizational goals and objectives while effectively implementing positive labour relations practices.
Some of Dwight's key contributions during their time at the East York and East Toronto Family Resources Organization include negotiating the first Collective Agreement with CUPE Local 5239 through 2015/16, acting as an advisor to and business partner with the Executive Director and Senior Management on its implementation, interpretation, administration, and ongoing strategy for effectively managing under the agreement. Dwight also represented the organization at all grievance proceedings, arbitration hearings and litigation in order to de-escalate and decrease negative labour actions. In addition, they recruited and on-boarded key management team members including the Manager, Finance and Manager, Housing Services in addition to over 25 members of department and program operation teams. Dwight also renegotiated service provider agreements leading to average annual savings of 24% per agreement. Lastly, they designed annual strategic development plans focused on ensuring ongoing workforce improvement, culture alignment with organization goals and objectives
Dwight Anderson has a Post Graduate Diploma in Human Resources Management from Durham College. Dwight also has a BTh in Theology and Business Administration from Master's College and Seminary. Dwight is certified by the Human Resources Professional Association (HRPA) as a CHRL and by WSIB as a JHSC Certification 1 (Basic) & 2 (Specific Hazards).
Dwight Anderson reports to Mina Mawani, CEO. They are on a team with Bob Mckitrick - Director, Music School, Sandra Costain - Director, Children & Youth, and Fulya Vekiloglu - Director, Employment Services.
