Marc Jacob

Marc Jacob has extensive experience in international law, notably serving as a Visiting Lecturer and Examiner at the University of Tübingen from 2012 to 2020, focusing on Investment Law and Arbitration as well as Public International Law. Prior to this role, Marc was a Senior Fellow at the Max Planck Institute for Comparative Public Law and International Law from 2007 to 2012, where the expertise included Public International Law, International Investment Law, EU Law, and English Law. In the legal profession, Marc held the position of Senior Associate at Shearman & Sterling LLP from 2013 to 2022, specializing in International Arbitration, Litigation, Public International Law, and Financial Institutions Investigations and Enforcement, and currently serves as a Partner at DLA Piper since April 2022, concentrating on International Arbitration, Litigation, and Regulatory matters. Academic qualifications include a Bachelor’s Degree in Law with first-class honours from UCL, a Master’s Degree in Law from Harvard Law School, and a Doctorate in Law awarded summa cum laude from The Goethe University Frankfurt.
