Maximilian Schwinger

Maximilian Schwinger is currently the Head of Department for the International Ground Segment at the Deutsches Zentrum für Luft-und Raumfahrt e.V. (DLR-DFD), where they oversee the development and operation of satellite ground stations and coordinate international partnerships. From 2013 to 2024, they led the Systems Engineering and Integration team focused on payload data processing for satellite missions. Maximilian holds a Diplom in Informatik and Applied Software Engineering from the Technische Universität München, where they studied from 2001 to 2006. Additionally, they served as the director of the German Antarctic research station GARS O’Higgins, leading strategic projects to promote research and technology in challenging environments.
