Laura Pérez Mayos has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Laura started their career as a Web developer at Sac Disseny i Comunicacions, S.L in 2005 and later worked as a Web application developer at Güell Consulting Technologies SL from 2007 to 2009. Laura then joined UPCnet as a Web application developer from 2010 to 2013. In 2013, they became a co-owner and web application developer at Iskra Desenvolupament SCCL. Following this, Laura worked as a Senior Web Application Developer at 4dlife for a brief period in 2014.

From 2014 to 2015, they worked as a Teaching Assistant at Universitat Pompeu Fabra - UPF. In parallel, they also undertook roles at TALN - Grupo de Investigación en NLP. Laura started as an NLP Research Assistant from July 2015 to September 2017, where their responsibilities included Word Sense Disambiguation and web development for workshops and projects. Laura then became an NLP Pre-doctoral Researcher from October 2017 to June 2022, focusing on the syntactic capabilities of autoencoding language models, along with social media management and web development for workshops and projects.

In 2021, Laura worked as an Applied Scientist Intern at Amazon Web Services (AWS). Currently, they are working as an NLP Research Scientist at dMetrics since January 2023.

Laura Pérez Mayos has a strong educational background in the field of computer science. Laura obtained their Engineer's degree in Informatics from Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya in the years 2001 to 2005. Laura further pursued their academic journey by completing a Master's degree in Intelligent Interactive Systems, specializing in Artificial Intelligence, at Universitat Pompeu Fabra from 2014 to 2015. Laura then continued their studies at Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, where they obtained a Master's degree in Computer Vision from 2015 to 2017. Most recently, they pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Natural Language Processing at Universitat Pompeu Fabra from 2017 to 2022.
