Kerry Young

Partner at DMH Stallard

Since joining DMH Stallard in 2007, Kerry has been involved with all main aspects of Private Client work, including trust and estate administration, Will preparation, Lasting Powers of Attorney and Court of Protection work.

In 2013, Kerry became responsible for the trusts’ portfolio and, since July 2021, Kerry has been head of the Trusts Services team, which aims to provide a comprehensive service to both professional and lay trustees.

The service includes the preparation and electronic submission of HMRC trust tax returns, advice on all tax aspects affecting trusts and the preparation of annual trust accounts. We also deal with the regulatory requirements imposed on trusts, which now entails the online registration of trusts on HMRC’s Trusts Register.

All aspects of ongoing trust administration are handled, including appointment and retirement of trustees, assisting with trustees’ meetings, payments out of trusts, completion of HMRC accounts for Inheritance Tax impacting on trusts, and liaising with investment providers and others connected to the trust investments.

Wider expertise within the firm in areas such as commercial and residential property means that we are able to provide trustees with assistance relating to properties held within trusts.

Kerry works closely with her Private Client colleagues who specialise in estate planning and estate administration, to ensure clients are provided with a complete service from the establishment of the trust to its termination.

Kerry qualified as a solicitor in 1998.
