Emily Andrus Reiche has a diverse work experience in engineering and planning roles. Emily began their career as an Engineer In Training at Horrocks Engineers, where they conducted traffic analyses and wrote traffic impact studies using various software. Emily also worked on traffic planning projects.
Emily then served as a Planning Commissioner at the City of St. George, where they contributed to land use and planning decisions for the city council.
During their time at Brigham Young University, they worked as a Research Assistant on a project focused on Automated Traffic Signal Performance Measures. Emily also participated in a senior Capstone Project on groundwater mapping in the Dominican Republic, where they gathered and analyzed data to create a groundwater database.
As an intern at Kittelson & Associates, Inc., Emily worked on transportation planning, operations, and design projects. Emily produced professional documents, coordinated with project teams, and took initiative in reporting to project managers.
Earlier in their career, they volunteered with Global Engineering Outreach, developing and implementing a method to teach fruit preservation in Peru. Emily also navigated cultural and language differences while working on this project.
Emily Andrus Reiche earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from Brigham Young University. Emily studied at the university from 2013 to 2019.
