Matxalen Rey Abasolo

Matxalen Rey Abasolo has extensive experience in geological and geophysical subsurface studies within the hydrocarbon exploration and production sectors. Currently serving as the Baeshiqa PSC Subsurface Manager and Tawke Subsurface Team Lead at DNO ASA since January 2018, Matxalen focuses on the DNO operated Peshkabir Field and Tawke PSC. Previous roles include Exploration Geoscientist at Repsol, contributing to geoscientific studies in Norway, and Downhole Logging Scientist with the International Continental Scientific Drilling Program, managing downhole logging data. Matxalen's academic qualifications include an MSc in Petroleum Geoscience from Heriot-Watt University, an Advanced Master in Hydrocarbon Exploration and Production from Centro Superior de Formación de Repsol, and a Licenciado in Physics from Universidad Complutense de Madrid, alongside participation in the TransAtlantic Science Students Exchange Program at McMaster University.
