WHO WE ARE: The Diversity & Innovation Institute is a non-profit organization dedicated to the development of human talent that leads to innovation, discovery, and the advancement technology. We are a STEM education resource to the community. WHAT WE DO: We inspire young students to become innovators and meet the challenges that affect humanity by: offering educational programs, internships, and resources to high school and college students interested in areas of science, engineering, technology, and medicine, and by offering students the opportunity to actively participate in research and development projects that will solve real problems. WHY WE EXIST: We believe that discovery and technological advancement are essential factors for the continuous development and enhancement of humankind. HOW WE ACCOMPLISH OUR GOALS: Through Education, Empowerment, Research, and Service YOUNG INNOVATORS QUEST: The Young Innovators Quest (YiQ) platform provides opportunities for high school students interested in STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) and medicine to conduct research and explore ways to enhance their creativity in a motivating, hands-on environment. Participants are immersed in the process of formulating and developing scientific research projects focused on increasing their interest in STEM, depth of knowledge and potential for innovation. YiQ also serves as a leadership and communications development platform. Participation length, while personal, has a minimum commitment of 3 weeks and it can last as long as 8 years (during high school and college).
