Klas Solberg

Senior Engineer

Klas Solberg is a senior engineer at DNV, specializing in structural integrity within the advisory section at the technology center in Oslo, with a focus on integrity assessments for carbon capture and storage (CCS) projects. Previous roles include engineer positions in structural integrity and materials advisory at DNV Energy Systems, covering areas such as pipeline infrastructure integrity, additive manufacturing, fatigue and fracture assessment, and finite element analysis. Klas Solberg completed a PhD in Mechanical Engineering at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) under the supervision of Prof. Filippo Berto and served as a teaching assistant during the MSc studies. Additional experience includes research collaboration at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University and internships at GE Healthcare and Zimmer and Peacock Ltd, along with a role as a student assistant at the University College of Southeast Norway. Klas holds a BSc and MSc in Mechanical Engineering from NTNU and University of South-Eastern Norway, respectively.
