Dan Kohler is the Chief Marketing Officer at Doane University. Dan has been in this role since November 2015 and is responsible for setting the marketing vision, creating strategies to maximize the productivity of marketing spend, and developing both short and long-term strategic marketing initiatives to achieve the goals of the university and to promote Doane University’s mission, vision, values, and purpose. Dan provides leadership and strategic direction to the Doane University marketing team, ensuring output of the highest standard to reflect the Doane University brand and storytelling. Dan is also responsible for the look, the feel, and the tone of the brand, increasing brand equity and brand awareness as a nationally recognized, nationally renowned university. Dan inspires a visual level, refines designs, and lends a critical eye to all creative, structural and technical output. Dan also fosters, inspires, and builds strong in-house teams whose creative, strategic and technological product exceeds that of leaders in higher education and rivals that of premier brands across any industry. Lastly, Dan identifies, vets and forms strong relationships with Doane's key external business partners, such as printers, photographers, agencies, tech partners, research firms, media buyers, contractors, and consultants. Dan also develops key insights through the generation and utilization of data to inform marketing strategies that achieve university goals.
