Before joining Finn AI, Jay worked at Samsung Research Canada for two years as a Software Engineer & B2B Support Engineer. During this time, they developed a web service to test the availability of various B2B services using Python and Django Web Framework. Jay Himanshu also explored backend design with NodeJS using Hapi as the web framework and used Angular for frontend development. Jay was responsible for creating a dashboard using Elasticsearch and Kibana for reporting purposes. Jay Himanshu initially used MongoDB for database management but later switched to PostgreSQL. The web service was deployed on AWS using an EC2 instance and Nginx. Jay also integrated DataDog for metrics tracking and alerts.

Before their time at Samsung Research Canada, Jay worked as a Developer & Technical Compliance Support Intern at SAP from September 2015 to March 2017. Prior to that, they interned at BlackBerry as a Developer - Android Runtime, where they worked on adding feature support, fixing bugs, ensuring compatibility of Android Player with Android, and gained experience with Android's source code.

Jay's early work experience includes a role as a Research Assistant at the School of Computing Science, Simon Fraser University. During this time, they converted a MATLAB algorithm to C++ code using Simulink and Real-Time Workshop. Jay Himanshu also optimized a C++ based application framework written in QT.
