Guillermo Zabala has a diverse work experience in the medical field. Guillermo is currently working as an Infectious Diseases Registrar at St George's University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. Prior to this, they served as the Chief Executive Officer at DocAway Coaching, a startup project aimed at providing coaching and advisory services to International Medical Graduates (IMG) in the United Kingdom.
Guillermo also worked as a Medical Microbiology Registrar at University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust, where they provided clinical advice, managed healthcare-associated infections, and supervised laboratory technicians. Guillermo gained further experience as a Senior Clinical Fellow and Infectious Diseases and Acute Internal Medicine Registrar at University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
In addition, Guillermo served as an International Mentor at the International Mentorship Foundation for the Advancement of Higher Education, where they provided coaching and mentoring to medical students from the Autonomous University of Madrid. Guillermo also worked as a Freelance Research Physician in Infectious Diseases and Global Health at the University of Oxford, focusing on antimicrobial resistance and tropical medicine.

Guillermo attended Colegio Vizcaya from 2002 to 2008, where they obtained a high school degree with a focus on Biology/Biological Sciences.
In 2009, they enrolled at Universidad del País Vasco/Euskal Herriko Unibertsitatea and completed their Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree in 2012.
After that, they pursued further education at Universidad Autónoma de Madrid and obtained another MBBS degree in an undisclosed field of study in 2015.
More recently, in 2018, Guillermo attended the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, U. of London, where they completed a Professional Diploma in Tropical Medicine & Hygiene.
