Thomas Boa Ventura

Thomas Boa Ventura has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Thomas currently works as a Software Engineer at Dock since April 2022. Before joining Dock, they worked at Lojas Renner S.A. as an IT Specialist | Tech Lead from October 2021 to April 2022, where they were responsible for defining systems for insurance and integrating insurance systems with the Lojas Renner S.A. ecosystem.

Prior to that, Thomas worked at Getnet Brasil for four years, from July 2018 to October 2021. During their time at Getnet Brasil, they held multiple roles including Scrum Master, Analyst, and Software Developer. Thomas was involved in developing and analyzing systems for card machines integration, automation, and POS systems using Java, C, and other technologies. As a Scrum Master, they applied agile methodologies to the development team.

Before Getnet Brasil, Thomas worked as a Developer at BCS Automação from October 2016 to March 2018. Their responsibilities included developing a web-based event, congress, and fair management system using languages such as PHP, JavaScript, and Ajax, along with various tools for database management.

Prior to that, Thomas worked at Cigam Software Corporativo as a Programmer from February 2014 to September 2016. Thomas developed web and mobile applications for the ERP CIGAM, utilizing SQL Server, Oracle, and PostgreSQL databases, along with technologies like HTML, CSS, PHP, JS, and C#.

Thomas's career began at BCS Automação in May 2011 as a PHP Programmer, where they developed a web-based event, congress, and fair management system similar to their later role at the same company. Thomas utilized technologies such as PHP, JavaScript, Ajax, CSS, and HTML.

Earlier in their career, Thomas served as a Voluntary Missionary at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints from November 2007 to November 2009, where they conducted community outreach and church promotion in the states of Sergipe and Alagoas. Prior to that, they worked as a Sales Promoter at Banco Santander for a brief period in 2007.

Additionally, Thomas worked as an Intern at Prefeitura Municipal de Novo Hamburgo from January 2005 to December 2006.

Thomas Boa Ventura has a diverse education history. In 2010 to 2011, they attended Instituição Evangélica de Novo Hamburgo - IENH, where they obtained a degree in Técnico em informática, specializing in Informática.

From 2013 to 2016, Thomas studied at Faculdade Ftec, earning a degree in Análise e desenvolvimento de sistemas, focusing on Análise de Sistemas de Computação.

In 2018 to 2019, they pursued a degree in Software Engineering from BYU-Pathway Worldwide, specializing in Tecnologia da Informação.

Lastly, in 2019 to 2020, Thomas pursued a Pós-Graduação Lato Sensu degree in Business intelligence, big data e analytics - ciência de dados from UNOPAR - Universidade Norte do Paraná. Their field of study was Computação e Tecnologias da Informação e Comunicação (TIC).

Apart from their formal education, Thomas has also obtained various certifications. Thomas completed a course on NodeJs, Typescript, TDD, DDD, Clean Architecture e SOLID from Udemy in October 2022. In August 2020, they obtained a certification in Competências Profissionais, Emocionais e Tecnológicas para Tempos de Mudança from PUCRS - Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio Grande do Sul.

Thomas also holds several Scrum and agile-related certifications. Thomas acquired the Kanban Associate certification from the International Scrum Institute™ in July 2020. In the same month, they obtained the Scrum Associate certification from the same institution. Furthermore, Thomas has obtained the Scrum Fundamentals Certified certification from AgileIT Coach in June 2020, and another Scrum Fundamentals Certified certification from SCRUMstudy - Accreditation Body for Scrum and Agile in April 2019.

Additionally, Thomas has a certification in Lean Inception Facilitator from Caroli.org in November 2018, and a certification in Pathway Connect from BYU-Pathway Worldwide in January 2018. Thomas also holds the certification of Administrador de Servidores Linux from Instituição Evangélica de Novo Hamburgo - IENH, although the month and year of obtaining this certification are not specified.
