Deborah Viccars

Deborah Viccars possesses extensive experience in policy, strategy, and legal affairs within the healthcare sector. Currently serving as Executive Vice President of Policy, Strategy & Legal Affairs at Doctors of BC since May 2013, Deborah has held multiple leadership roles, including Vice President of Policy, Planning & Law and Director of Policy & Planning, contributing to the management and strategic development of non-clinical policy advice for the organization's Board of Directors. Prior to this role, Deborah worked at WorkSafeBC from November 2004 to April 2013, where responsibilities included the development and analysis of workers' compensation policy and stakeholder engagement. Earlier experience includes practicing law at Edwards, Kenny & Bray LLP from May 1999 to October 2004, specializing in corporate and commercial law. Deborah's educational background includes a Bachelor of Laws from UBC Faculty of Law and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of British Columbia, supplemented by executive leadership training at the Maslow Centre for Executive Leadership.
