Troy M. Meyer

Deputy Inspector General Overseas Contingency Operations at Department of Defense Office of Inspector General

Mr. Troy M. Meyer was selected as the Deputy Inspector General for Overseas Contingency Operations (DIG OCO) in November 2021. In this capacity, Mr. Meyer is responsible for developing and executing strategic oversight plans when the DoD IG is designated as Lead OIG for an overseas contingency operation (OCO) consistent with Section 8L of the Inspector General Act of 1978. The DoD OIG is currently designated as Lead OIG for two OCOs: Operation Inherent Resolve and Operation Freedom's Sentinel.

Prior to becoming the DIG OCO, Mr. Meyer served as the Principal Assistant Inspector General for Audit of the Department of Defense Office of Inspector General for more than 5 years. In this capacity, Mr. Meyer helped implement and lead a comprehensive global auditing program that assesses the efficiency and effectiveness of DoD programs and activities, and detects and deters fraud, waste, and abuse.

Mr. Meyer also previously served as the Assistant Inspector General for Audit of the Small Business Administration Office of Inspector General. Mr. Meyer began his federal career as an auditor in 1991 with the Department of Justice Office of the Inspector General.

Mr. Meyer earned his Master of Business Administration and Bachelor of Business Administration from Pace University. He is a Certified Public Accountant, Certified Internal Auditor, Certified Fraud Examiner, and a Certified Government Financial Manager.
