Mitchell Batty

Mitchell Batty, PhD, is a seasoned professional in microbiology and project management, currently serving as a Project Manager at The Peter Doherty Institute for Infection and Immunity since July 2021. Previously, Batty worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Monash Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences and held the position of Senior Research Assistant at Monash University, where the focus was on the cell biology of the malaria parasite Plasmodium falciparum. Batty's earlier roles included Research Assistant, where contributions were made to a multidisciplinary project on malaria drug targets, and Teaching Associate, providing practical lab skills and microbiology theory instruction to undergraduates. Batty's educational background includes a PhD in Microbiology, a Bachelor of Science (Honours), and a Bachelor of Science in Biotechnology, all obtained from Monash University.
