Matt Higgins

Matt Higgins has extensive experience in education and safety management within the construction industry. Currently serving as Safety Manager and Field Engineer at Doherty Steel, Inc. since July 2015, Matt plays a crucial role in ensuring operational safety. Prior to this position, Matt worked in educational roles, including teaching Industrial Technology at USD 367 from August 2007 to July 2015, where fundamentals of construction and technology were imparted to students. Matt also coached Wrestling, Cross Country, and Soccer over several years, demonstrating a commitment to student engagement and mentorship. Earlier in career, Matt was a Technology Education Teacher and Head Soccer Coach at Eudora High School from August 2006 to May 2007. Matt holds a Master’s degree and a Bachelor’s degree in Educational/Instructional Technology from Pittsburg State University, complemented by an Associate's degree from Fort Scott Community College.
