Zhi Xuen Lai has four years of work experience. In 2019, they worked as a Firmware Engineer for Dojo Five. From 2018 to 2019, they were a Research Assistant at the Department of Aerospace Engineering and Mechanics, University of Minnesota, where they implemented collaboration between humans, nano quadcopter (Crazyflies), and ground robot (TurtleBot2), and wrote Python script of waypoints following algorithm for TurtleBot2 using Robot Operating System (ROS). From 2016 to 2017, they were a Drivers Behavior Analyst (Student Helper) at the Minnesota Traffic Observatory, University of Minnesota, where they reduced car accidents at I-94 freeway by analyzing the behavior of drivers, improved communication between research centers at other countries by translating English to Chinese visitors during their visits to the lab, and presented personal progress on the research by preparing weekly reports.
