Erik Jan Hamel

Erik Jan Hamel has a diverse range of work experience in various leadership and finance roles. Erik Jan currently serves as the Finance Director for Dole Packaged Foods Europe BV, a position they have held since 2020. Prior to this, Erik Jan Hamel had a long career at HEINEKEN, where they held several senior executive positions. From 2016 to 2018, they served as the Managing Director of HEINEKEN Switzerland, overseeing two breweries and a drinks wholesale business. During their tenure, they successfully led a turnaround, achieving a significant increase in operating margin and implementing a successful B2B E-Commerce program. Before that, from 2014 to 2016, they were the Managing Director of HEINEKEN Ceska Republica, where they successfully implemented a turnaround strategy, restored profitability, and drove revenue growth through innovations. Prior to their management roles, Erik Jan Hamel served as the Financial Director and Financial Manager for HEINEKEN Ceska Republica, where they were responsible for finance, IT, and legal. Erik Jan led the integration and restructuring of several acquired companies in the Czech Republic, resulting in the closure of four breweries and the merger of three companies into one legal entity. Erik Jan Hamel also had experience in sales and controlling roles earlier in their career, including a role as the National Sales Manager Key Accounts On Premise. Erik Jan began their career as a Junior Controller at Vrumona and also gained valuable experience as a Management Trainee at The HEINEKEN Company. Prior to their corporate work, Erik Jan Hamel served in the military as a Second Lieutenant in the Koninklijke Landmacht.

Erik Jan Hamel's education history includes a Heineken GM Campus program at Harvard University in 2016. Prior to that, they completed a degree in Registered Controller from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (VU Amsterdam) from 1993 to 1995. Erik Jan also holds a Masters of Science in Business Administration (Drs Bedrijfskunde) from Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University, which they obtained from 1985 to 1991. Additionally, Erik Jan Hamel has a Masters of Law (Meester in de Rechten) in Dutch Law (Commercial Law) from Erasmus University Rotterdam, completed from 1987 to 1992.
