Sean Smiles has a diverse work experience in the technology field. Sean started their career at Hewitt Associates in 1996 as an Interactive Software Designer/Consultant. In 1998, they became the Owner/Proprietor of ACR Consulting, Inc., where they worked as a Technology Contractor until 2000. From 2000 to 2003, they worked at Link Computer Corporation as a Software Development Consulting Engineer. Sean then joined Dollar Energy Fund, Inc. in 2003 and held various roles, including Director of Information Technology from 2003 to 2009, and Chief Information Officer from 2010 onwards.
From 1991 to 1995, Sean Smiles attended Thiel College. During their time there, they pursued a Bachelor of Arts degree in Management Information Systems and Computer Science.

Founded in 1983 in Western Pennsylvania by a coalition of concerned community and business leaders, Dollar Energy Fund, Inc. has grown to become the largest hardship fund in Pennsylvania and one of the largest in the country. Our organization has been there for those who need help with their utility bills and the need is growing due to increased costs of everyday living expenses and severe winters. These circumstances have caused our average utility assistance grant to increase, which means we are able to help fewer families with the same amount of money.
