Mike Smith

Mike Smith is the current Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer at Doma. Mike has held this position since August 2021. Prior to their current role, Mike was the Chief Accounting Officer and Director of Treasury at Banc of California from September 2018 to August 2021. Before that, they served as the Chief Accounting Officer at loanDepot from September 2014 to July 2018.

Mike's career began at CapitalSource, where they served as the Chief Accounting Officer from January 2004 to December 2014. Mike then spent two years as a Senior Manager at Grant Thornton from January 1996 to December 2004. Mike began their career at Deloitte in January 1992 and spent four years there as a Senior before moving on to CapitalSource.

Mike Smith studied at Brigham Young University, where they earned a Macc and BS in Accounting. Mike also minored in Japanese. After graduation, they became certified as a Certified Management Accountant from the Institute of Management Accountants. Mike also holds certifications from the California Board of Accountancy as a Certified Public Accountant and from the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants as a Chartered Global Management Accountant.

They work with Mini Peiris - Chief Marketing Officer, Hasan Rizvi - CTO, and Jerry Jenkins - Chief People Officer. Mike Smith reports to Max Simkoff, CEO& Managing Director.
