Cristian G. Munteanu

Cristian G. Munteanu has a diverse work experience that spans over two decades. Cristian G. began their career as a Research & Teaching Assistant at Politehnica University of Bucharest, where they conducted research in evolutionary computation methods and taught classes in digital signal processing and neural networks.

After their time at Politehnica University, Cristian worked as an IT consultant at Edosoft Factory, where they analyzed and programmed for an e-Finance project. Cristian G. also developed and implemented a stock market ontology and handled system and network administration in Linux.

Cristian G. then joined Albanova as a System and Network Administrator, where they focused on firewall administration, proxy management, VPN, intrusion detection, and antispam systems.

Cristian later worked as a Principal Researcher at Cooclea, where they designed a sleep disorder automatic detection system with a focus on voice and speech analysis. Cristian G. was also involved in research on image processing applied to breast cancer detection and ultrasound imaging.

Following their time at Cooclea, Cristian joined ULPGC (Universidad de Las Palmas de Gran Canaria) as a Research Assistant, where they worked on an EU project related to medical imaging and ultrasound image filtering.

Cristian G. then transitioned into the role of a Network & System Administrator and provided first and second level support at Domingo Alonso Group for nearly nine years. Cristian G. was responsible for the administration of servers and cloud platforms, including MS Exchange and MS SQL failover clusters, Citrix, VMware, and Linux Debian server.

In their most recent position as a Team Lead Data Scientist at Domingo Alonso Group, Cristian is currently leading a data science team that includes data & business analysts and data engineers. Cristian G. is involved in developing software solutions related to Data Science, Business Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data Warehouse, and Data Mining in the automotive and mobility industries. Cristian G. possesses skills in team leadership, project management, Scrum, Kanban, and strategic support for data products.

Cristian G. Munteanu received a BSc and MSc in Applied Electronics from the University POLITEHNICA of Bucharest, which they attended from 1991 to 1996. Cristian G. later pursued a PhD in Computer Science and Electrical Engineering from the University of Lisbon, completing their studies from 2000 to 2006. In addition to their formal education, Munteanu has obtained various certifications, including ones in Generative AI Fundamentals and Databricks Lakehouse Fundamentals from Databricks, as well as certifications in Apache Spark Programming and Azure Databricks Cloud Architecture from Databricks, and in General and Python Data Science and SQL from TestDome.
