Brett Child

Principal Engineer at Domo

Brett Child has a diverse work experience spanning over a decade. Brett started their career as the Owner and Founder of Ecycle Cache Valley in 2006, where they managed the business until 2008. Brett then joined ICON Health & Fitness in 2007, initially working as a QA Analyst before transitioning into the role of Java Programmer and Team Lead in 2009. In this position, Brett was responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining the iFit application using Java, J2EE, Spring, Struts, SOAP, Websphere, Rational, and third-party APIs. Brett also led multiple development projects concurrently, including a migration from IBM to an open-source cloud environment. In 2011, Brett joined Software Technology Group as a Senior Software Engineer/Software Consultant, where they contributed to various projects until 2015. Finally, they joined Domo, Inc. in 2015 as the Senior Software Engineer Team Lead, leading a team and leveraging their expertise in software engineering.

Brett Child has a diverse education history. From 1999 to 2007, they attended Utah State University, where they obtained a BA in Liberal Arts with a focus on Business. Continuing their education, they pursued a Master of Science degree at Utah State University's Jon M. Huntsman School of Business from 2008 to 2010. Brett'sfield of study during this period was Management Information Systems.

In addition to their academic qualifications, Brett also obtained two certifications from Scrum Alliance. In May 2013, they became a Certified Scrummaster, and in May 2014, they achieved the Scrum Developer certification.
