Senior Software Engineer at Domo

Steven West has over 20 years of work experience in software engineering and technology roles. Steven started their career as a Network Systems Assistant at Brigham Young University, where they provided hardware, desktop, and network support. Steven also worked as a Computer Support Specialist, managing faculty computer labs and developing department web pages.

After their time at Brigham Young University, Steven joined Novell as a Java Developer Support Engineer. Steven then moved on to work at Digital Harbor as a Software Engineer, where they developed security features and client-server communication for internet deployable apps.

Steven then joined Perot Systems as a Software Engineer, where they were a team lead for the Appeals module of a healthcare app and worked on various modules such as Premium Billing and Customer Service.

Following their role at Perot Systems, they worked at FamilySearch.org as a Senior Software Engineer and led a team in the development of production search clusters.

Steven then became a Senior Software Engineer at DigitalGlobe, where they led the development of the infrastructure for continuous build, release, and deployment of cloud services applications. Steven also promoted DevOps to address boundary issues between teams.

Currently, they are a Senior Software Engineer at Domo, Inc., where they focus on improving the index/query scale and reliability of customer data. Steven also created a Kubernetes-based microservice platform, allowing for quick-spawn of disposable microservice environments.

Throughout their career, Steven has demonstrated leadership skills, led organizational change, and prototyped technologies for selection. Steven has a strong background in software engineering, DevOps, and infrastructure development.

Steven West earned a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from Brigham Young University, which they attended from 1995 to 1998. Steven then pursued a Master's degree in Computer Science at the same university, from 1998 to 1999.
