Manuela Leone

Manuela Leone, MD, has over 25 years of experience in the pharmaceutical and clinical research industry. Manuela currently holds the position of Global Head of Clinical Development & Operations at Dompé. Prior to this, they served as the Global Head of Translational & Clinical Operations at Dompé. From 2020 to 2022, they worked as the Chief Medical Officer at MEDIOLANUM FARMACEUTICI SPA. Before that, they held the role of Vice President & General Manager Oncology at Covance from 2018 to 2020. In 2017, they worked as the VP, Regional Medical Officer EMEA -PPD Biotechnology at PPD. From 2014 to 2017, they held multiple roles at LFB, including Executive VP of Global Medical & Clinical Development and Board Member. Prior to that, they served as the President of Contract Research Services at Harlan Laboratories, Inc. from 2011 to 2014. Manuela also worked as the Sr. VP of Global Clinical Development & Strategic Programs at ICON plc from 2010 to 2011. Earlier in their career, they were the Global Head of Clinical Development & Development Operations at Galderma from 2008 to 2010. From 1997 to 2008, they served as the Vice President and Head of Global Operations at MDS Pharma Services Global Clinical Development – Phase II-IV. Their career began as the Clinical Research & Development Director at Fidia Farmaceutici SPA in 1996. Dr. Leone has a wealth of experience in clinical development and operations, making their a highly accomplished professional in the field.

Manuela Leone, MD completed their medical education at Università di Pavia, where they obtained a degree in Medicina e Chirurgia. Manuela later pursued further specialization in Pediatrics and Immunology at Università degli Studi Pavia. Manuela also completed a post-graduation program in Molecular Biology & Viral Immunology at the Pasteur Institute in Paris. Additionally, they underwent a residency program in Pediatrics at the University of Pavia and the University of Paris.
