Don Bugito
Monica Martinez is an accomplished founder and CEO of Don Bugito, an innovative Bay Area food company established in 2010, specializing in planet-friendly protein snacks that incorporate edible insects and aim to promote sustainable ingredients. Additionally, Monica has significant academic experience as an adjunct professor at California College of the Arts, teaching various design and food-related seminars while also coordinating programs for international graduate students. As a studio artist from 2000 to 2019, Monica's artwork focused on the architectural forms of industrial buildings and materials. Previous roles include senior designer at DEFAUW DESIGN & FABRICATION, INC. and adjunct faculty at the University of San Francisco. Monica holds an MFA in Sculpture from the Rhode Island School of Design and a BFA from the Massachusetts College of Art and Design.

Our Mission is to share the amazing qualities of edible insects either by educational workshops and catering of events. Don Bugito is also a women run company with the mission of creating and supporting local sustainable food practices.
