Christopher Schaljo-Hernandez serves as the County Commissioner - Elect for Doña Ana County, actively leading budget preparation and policy development as Commission Vice Chair. Co-owning and operating Salud! de Mesilla, a restaurant that embodies the local community spirit, Christopher has also held the position of Chairperson for the Political Party of Doña Ana County, achieving significant electoral successes. Prior experience includes roles as a Kitchen Cabinet Designer at Lowe's Home Improvement and as an Assistant Store Manager at Papa John's. Christopher earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Government from New Mexico State University and has additional education from the University of Missouri-Saint Louis.
